For the last 10 years David has been an Associate Director, before forming his own company, and as such has been responsible for a very large number of projects. Some highlights are picked out below to illustrate the range of such activities:
Alconbury to Fletton widening, Cambridgeshire
Design input for 20km new road build. Managed project including research programme on foundation displacements for gantry bases
Blackwater Valley Relief Road, Hampshire
Investigations for 6km new road in valley deposits with mineral workings, design input, land remediation, research programme on sulphates
Channel Tunnel, UK/ France
Management of multi national teams of technical experts carrying out data collection and recording activities in offshore drilling operations
Cromer, Norfolk
Halifax MSSS, Yorkshire
Geological advice to project team throughout investigations, construction and claims over a period of 10 years on major new tunnelled storm and sewerage scheme
Harwell Western Storage Area, Oxfordshire
Responsible for the team preparing the design of remediation of hazardous chemical waste storage area, and the on site teams carrying out the works monitoring
Heathrow Express, Heathrow Airport, Middlesex
Led the Post collapse rebuild investigation teams Project Manager for the Forensic investigations which involved teams of geologists, technicians and labour working 24 hours per day over several months, and ensuring uniformity of recording and logging systems
Research projects, UK
Initiated and led company research into technical problems encountered in contracts, including research on abnormal sulphate levels and on small strain performance of gantry foundations
Teaching Company Scheme, Internal project
Managed internal research programme into the application and use of analytical procedures in geomechanics
